Our approach to texture and material has deep roots extending into the natural world. Consider the ancient desert yardangs, those striking, wind-carved formations that dot arid landscapes. These natural sculptures demonstrate how nature uses abrasion to shape the land. Sandblasting allows us to tap into the same forces that form these landscapes—erosion, pressure, and time. Our work is an attempt to harness these natural processes with control and intention.
As with the natural forces that shape a planet's surface, sandblasting is an art of understanding and respecting a material’s inherent properties, guiding the process to reveal its underlying qualities. We work within a process of anticipation and discovery, involving experimentation, refinement, and adaptation in real time. Each piece becomes a collaboration between maker and material, an ongoing conversation that unfolds with every pass, revealing new textures, depths, and forms.
As artisans, we carry forward the traditions of the earliest sandblasters while embracing the potential of new methods and materials. Inspired by pioneers like Picasso and Nesjar, we view sandblasting not just as a technique, but as a form of artistic expression—one that expands material potential and pushes the boundaries of what surfaces and objects can become. Whether working with concrete, wood, glass, or stone, we continue to innovate, bridging technical mastery with creative vision.
